The Lakes Mermaids provides opportunities to learn and appreciate the sport of Artistic Swimming, under the guidance of nationally recognized coaches. We encourage the development of life skills and personal character. Our objectives are to provide quality instruction in the fundamental aspects of synchronized swimming. Creating a safe, positive and nurturing environment for young athletes to excel.
COMPETITIVE age group program
12U TEAM: Ages 8-12
YOUTH TEAM: Ages 13-15 (females) and Ages 13-16 (males)
JUNIORS TEAM: Ages 15-19 (females) and Ages 15-20 (males)
All levels are through USA Artistic Swimming; age group levels compete in local meets, and National qualifying meets, National meets and potentially International meets. Age group level is a more advanced level that requires more training and larger travel to meets.
NOVICE & INTERMEDIATE
NOVICE TEAM: Ages 5 and up
Beginner level, practices twice a week, no previous experience required. Opportunity to compete at local meets.
INTERMEDIATE TEAM: Ages 5 and up
A competitive level up from Novice, competes at local meets with opportunity to compete at regional competitions.
REC LESSONS
RECREATIONAL LESSONS: Any age
Non-competitive lessons as an introduction to Artistic Swimming.

ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES PROGRAM
Artistic Swimming has a soothing and calming effect for athletes with disabilities. It aids in cognitive and spatial awareness, flexibility and physical strength as well as improved self-esteem and sense of belonging.
